A tidbit about the grape(s)/wine style
A sister winery to Coelho in Oregon State, Dois Irmãos means "two brothers," and is named after the vintner's two sons. This is a varietally sound Pinot Noir, showing typicality in flavor. Tannins are perhaps a touch more present than in many domestic pinots providing a solid backbone, although still retaining a well-integrated texture.
Region: Willamette Valley, OR, USA
Aging: 55% neutral French barrel, rest mixed barrel (new and used)
Alcohol: 13.8% abv
Tasting Notes: Ripe raspberry and plum are balanced by notes of forest floor and cola. Slight herbaceous and floral undertones bring depth. Tannins are present but well-integrated.
Food Suggestions: Pork tenderloin, 5-spice duck, rich mushroom sauce or gravy
